My local police use Yamaha FJR1300s but also have a Ducati 848 which was donated by a bike shop in my city.

yep - Washington State Patrol upgraded to ST1300's a few years ago. They had BMWs previously. They recently selected the Ford Explorer as their main vehicle but still have a bunch of Chevy SSs I’ve seen them use to run down speeders, etc.
